Collection and distribution of tips via card machines is expensive and requires additional compliance and admin. In addition, you may need to keep a record of collected tips for your employees and provide access to it. With EasyTip, the cost of tip transactions is usually covered by the customer meaning the business can save on processing costs. As tips collection and distribution is outsourced (tips bypass the business entirely), compliance requirements for the business reduce. Customers who leave a tip do not need an app, they can simply scan a QR code using any mobile phone camera. Under UK law, you must pay income tax on all tips. However, tips received through the EasyTip platform are exempt from National Insurance contributions, provided HMRC guidelines are followed.
